Oromia Forest & Wildlife Enterprise (OFWE) is an autonomous public enterprise established with Reg. No. 122/2009, issued by the Oromia National Regional State Council in July 2009. It is mandated to administer & sustainably manage regional forests, woodlands & wildlife conservation areas in Oromia. To accomplish this mandate OFWE strives to develop and implement a management of multiple-use forestry where forestlands and wildlife conservation areas in its jurisdiction are managed to simultaneously provide more than one of the development objectives which includes biodiversity conservation, watershed protection, and sustainable utilization of forest products for economic development.
