Petromark Africa Ltd: originally started its operations as a joint venture company comprising of shareholders from Tanzania (4) and the United Arab Emirates (2) the later holding majority shares (60%)
The joint venture functioned between 2,000 – 2005 dealing in the business of bulk petroleum procurement ex-Dubai for eventual sale to bulk customers both in the domestic market as well as export markets, the later constituting D.R. Congo’s Katanga, Kasai and Kivu provinces.
During the company’s five years of operations, procurements of white petroleum products were undertaken from the Emirates National Oil Company or ENOC in Dubai by way of Letters of Credit opened in favor of the company on a monthly basis to effect regular product shipment by hired marine tankers to the port of Dar es salaam, in Tanzania.
