The helmets should be able to meet the following protection levels:-
Ballistic Protection
- NIJ Level I
- NIJ Level II A
- NIJ Level II
- NIJ Level III A
And should be in accordance with NIJ Standards 0106.01 and 0101.04 & the Fragmentation Resistance (V50) should be ranging from 300m/s (985 ft/s) up to 700 m/s (2230 ft/s) and also to be in accordance with STANAG 2920 and US MIL STD 662F.
- PASGT HELMET - (3 & 4 point suspension system) Weight :- 1.1 kg (2.4Ib)
- PASCUT HELMET - (with reduced ear coverage) Weight :- 1.0 kg (2.2Ib)
- SPECIAL FORCES HELMETS (no ear coverage & no lip) Weight:- 0.85 kg (1.9Ibs)
- PARATROOP HELMETS (for airborne forces) Weight :- 1.1 kg (2.4 Ib)
- CREWMAN HELMET (for tank crew with communication headsets) Weight:- 0.95 kg (2.1Ib)
The above listed weights are for level IIIA helmets, except the demining & fragmentation helmets which are for V50s of 450 m/s.
