I am Christopher Hewins one of the owners of
Hewins Sawmill, LLC. Hewins Sawmill is owned
by my dad, brother, and I. We are a small
business that primarily deals with specialty
orders and custom orders. We specialize in
doing wide plank walnut boards whether green
or kiln dried. What we’re currently doing is live
sawing our walnut lumber to get the maximum
width. Right now we are doing four separate
orders. Our first order is our “narrow” stock. We
are live sawing 10”-14” diameter. Our second
order is our “wide” order. We are live sawing
15”-18” diameter logs. We also specialize in kiln
dried walnut planks up to 10/4 thick, but we can
sell any thickness green. We also do high end
and straight grain walnut gunstock flitches that
are cut from select gun logs.
We also quarter saw 3 primary species: white
oak, red oak, and sycamore. We are very picky
what we allow to be considered quarter sawn.
We are regularly Selling: wide black walnut lumber, black walnut gunstock flitches, black walnut slabs, spalted hackberry, quartersawn white oak, quartersawn red oak, quartersawn sycamore. |
