In 2003 Symbol and Jamie MacPhail of Symbol Yachts Australia were able to re-introduce the brand to Australia, this time in a very different form. Symbol had begun a relationship in 1998 with Jack Sarin well known passage boat designer based in Seattle, USA. This was a new direction for Jimmy Cheng and Symbol, which led to smaller production runs of high quality offshore capable cruisers, Passagemakers. These new Symbol’s are designed, built and finished for the discerning buyer looking for something special and unique. Symbol prides itself as being able to customise its models to suit the requests of “most” buyers in what is now a very conservative market space.
