The smock is a locally made garment shaped liked the "dondon" drum. It is the traditional dress for men in the Northern region. There are also female versions of it. It is made of hand-loomed cottton strips called strip-cloths. Smocks are made in different unique colours and designs. They can be worn as official wears, casual wears, occasions like weddings, ceremonial wears etc. It can also be presented as gifts to friends and loved ones.
